Urgent! Grounds Maintenance Lead Job Opening In Guantanamo Bay – Now Hiring V2X
Overview
Personnel with the qualifications, technical knowledge, experience, and skills required to efficiently provide grounds maintenance and landscaping services.
All personnel shall be fluent in English, (Read, Write and Speck).
Responsibilities
+ The Grounds Maintenance Lead is a working position, required to perform same types of duties as the Grounds Maintenance personnel preform.
+ Ensures assigned team members perform extensive mowing, trimming, and edging around buildings walkways and fences.
+ Prunes or trims shrubs, spreads fertilizer, and removes clippings
+ Job assignments will involve the conduct of work in out-of-doors areas with exposure to extreme climatic conditions.
+ Work will require lifting up to 50 lbs.
Stooping; climbing; prolonged standing; prolonged sitting; and work in areas where a potential exists for exposure to physical, chemical, and biological agents.
+ Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) use is required when applicable.
+ Equipment includes but is not limited to head; hand; foot; torso; respiratory; vision, and hearing protection.
+ Ensures grounds maintenance tools/equipment are maintained fully operational.
+ Responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, healthy, presentable, professional atmosphere, free of clutter and trash in all working facilities and areas.
+ Responsible for proper utilization and safeguarding of all provided property (e.g., facilities, equipment, and tools).
+ Must obtain required licenses for the various equipment assigned to the section.
+ Actively works towards meeting contractual requirements and adhering to the monthly Grounds Cut Sheet schedule.
+ Leads team as they respond to service orders as directed and assigned.
+ Works in a professional and efficient matter with minimum downtime.
+ Must be able to withstand prolonged periods of time working outdoors during varying heat conditions.
+ Responsible for the upkeep of assigned PPE, tools, equipment, vehicles etc.
and is liable to turn in for scheduled maintenance or when identified faulty.
+ Responsible for updating work orders using either a tablet, computer and/or handwritten on paper workorder.
Updates included changing the work order status, inputting a log, requesting material and time performance.
+ Leads team as the perform general housekeeping when on site.
+ Grounds Maintenance Lead Job Description (JD)
+ May be required to work weekends, holidays, early and late shifts.
+ Overtime may be required.
+ Performs other duties and responsibilities as required.
+ Reports to the Grounds Supervisor
Qualifications
+ Education / Certifications: One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education if degree is required.
+ Must possess a valid home country driver’s license and be capable of obtaining a USG driver’s license
+ Must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent
+ Experience:
+ Must possess a minimum of four (4) years of experience in roads and grounds maintenance or lawncare.
+ Must possess a minimum of one (1) year of experience in a leadership role and operating grounds equipment
+ Skills & Technology Used:
+ Ability to understand lawn maintenance techniques, equipment operation, and road surface repair.
+ Knowledge and ability in using computer applications.
+ Ability to speak and understand fluent English.
+ Ability to interpret Maps
+ Working Environment:
+ Tropical, seasonally hot, humid, with maritime influence and semi-continental features.
+ Rainy period runs from May to October.
+ It is characterized by the influence of the North Atlantic Anticyclone; Dry season extends from November to April
+ Material & Equipment Directly Used:
+ Push lawnmowers, Zero Turn Mowers, Tractors, Weed Eaters, Chainsaws, Trimmers, Hedge Clippers,
+ Pick-up Trucks with Trailers, Shovels, Hand Rakes, Blowers, Brooms, and Basic Hand Tools etc.
+ Laptop or Desk Computer
